Westlake Grill

Restaurant

Westlake Grill is a fascinating venue nestled in a picturesque setting, surrounded by enchanting natural scenery. The staff leaves an indelible impression with their exceptionally warm and accommodating demeanor. During my visit for Mothers Day brunch, we found ourselves to be the sole patrons amidst the prevailing Covid situation, just before dining establishments were due to cease operations. Despite this, our server thoughtfully ignited an outdoor fire pit and provided cozy blankets to combat the chilly climate.

The food was delicious and presented very well. My kids are picky but they loved the desserts. Great first impression and the service was excellent.

Had a really awesome experience here for my girlfriends birthday. The service was 12/10. I had never had a waitress as awesome as ours was (I wish I could remember her name). The food was really amazing too. The price tag is pretty high but I would honestly say it was worth it for the service alone.

Atmospherethe ambience is a cozy retreat with rustic charm, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Antique and western decor elements, including charming tablecloths and unique bronze curlers, create an immersive atmosphere. The occasional sight of horses passing by the windows makes a truly memorable experience.FoodThe food at West Grill Ranch earns a commendable 4 out of 5 stars. One standout dish is the mushroom omelet, served with whole wheat bread and homemade jam. Each bite bursts with natural flavors, and the affordable prices are a big plus. However, during our visit, the food took a bit longer than expected to arrive—37 minutes for two people on a relatively quiet day. The flavors were worth the wait.ServiceThe staff at West Grill Ranch deserves a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, with authentic smiles and helpful assistance. Our server checked in on us frequently, ensuring that our needs were met. Additionally, the kitchen staff accommodated allergies without hesitation, making slight alterations to dishes as needed. Overall, the exceptional service truly elevated our dining experience.

Very interesting location with beautiful natural habitat all around. Staff are extremely friendly. We went there for Mother’s Day brunch and were the only ones there (during time of covid and right before restaurants were about to close). Our server started a outdoor fire pit for us and we were provided with blankets for the chilly weather. They have hammock chairs to relax in around the restaurant. Food was good. Want to go back there to try the regular items on the menu next time!

Jen — Google review

Food is great. Service is pretty good if you can get in. I called on Mother's Day morning, to see if they were taking walk ins (because most places do, but with it being mother's day, and we were riding our bikes there, I wanted to be sure we'd get in.) They assured me on the phone that yes, they were taking walk ins, but were completely booked as far as reservations go, also that there might be a bit of a longer wait for a table if we walked in. Totally understandable. So, we all jumped on our bikes and rode there for breakfast. When we got there we locked our bikes up around back and saw that the patio was completely empty, of the 10 or so tables back there, there was one being used. When we came inside to put our name down to wait for a table, the server or hostess or whomever it was, told us they were not taking walk ins and were completely booked. I said I called and confirmed that they were taking walk ins, otherwise we would not have ridden our bikes all the way there. They said "sorry, nothing we can do." I pointed out that the patio was completely empty and they said "we're not taking any walk ins. We're fully booked with reservations."We had to bike somewhere else.Absolute garbage customer service. They made the mistake, they should fix it. But they didn't even try. Just so disappointing, this place used to be great, but after this experience, I can't really justify coming back or recommending it. There's lots of other great dining options in Red Deer now, and more opening every day, I recommend taking your money somewhere that treats there customers with a little bit of respect and is willing to fix their mistakes.

New menu that is very unique and somewhat pricey. My wife and I enjoyed the pizza 🍕 and it was great. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed a nice meal on a warm day. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was tasty and served hot. There restaurant was clean and the ambiance was pleasant.

The Westlake Grill has some of the best food available in Red Deer paired with great service and a warm, relaxing, and romantic atmosphere. We love the local meats and produce on the menu, along with the unique and delicious desserts. (If Yak is on the chef's special, get it!!!)

Avery A — Google review

Delicious food! Romantic atmosphere with lights and heart-shaped bowls and tables for two. My wife and I were served by a friendly and attentive waitress and enjoyed a splendid date night here.

Robert S — Google review

I took my mom to their Mother's Day Brunch and it exceeded all expectations! The Westlake Grill is the hidden gem of Red Deer. Whether you're going on a romantic date night, lunch with your girlfriends, or brunch with your mom, it is always the perfect place to pick. The staff is so kind and will go above and beyond to make sure you have the most amazing experience. The food is absolutely delectable! The flavors they pair and the quality of every dish is incomparable. To top it all off, it's set on the edge of a tranquil wooded area which leaves you gazing at the most beautiful scenery during your meal. It also gives you a dreamy after meal experience when you take a walk down the trails or go to say hello to the horses. I always leave there feeling like I just fell out of a fairytale.

Amanda E — Google review

Went for the date night option and while I wish I could rate this place better they simply failed all around. When I booked online the meal came with wine matching so I specified asked about co*cktail as we do not drink wine, I was told this was included. Got to heratage ranch and went on the carrage ride was 10 out of 10. But for diner. The first two courses were frozen grapes and 5 tiny slices of oyster mushrooms. Service was slow for these these rounds had an empty drink the entire time. Next coarse was puree ot came cold and was good but very bland. Main course was 2 5ounce steaks one bison and one beef this was very well seasoned and tender but we where never asked how we wanted it cooked so came medium well. The a shot glass of frozen berries followed by a chocolate dessert that was good but very rich. Finally finished and told.tge only comped one drink in lue of the wine. I have been to many chefs meals and this was by far the most disappointing. The waitress was slow and not friendly. All and all for a $500 meal and ride I will never come back or encourage anyone to come here.

Mars H — Google review

We love the high quality food. Best food ever! Great atmosphere and kid friendly 👌 We've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and its one of our most favorite spots!

Jocelyn S — Google review

It was our first visit. Service was amazing and dinner was such a treat! After we left I went on and on how amazing it was. Very romantic at sunset! We will 1000% be back!

Amanda M — Google review

Went for Valentine's Day dinner, and the food was definitely good but both the entree and dessert were missing ingredients from the menu with no mention of it until after it was already at the table. For the price point just kind of figured there would have been more accuracy

Braydon G — Google review

A bit tricky to find as you don't expect there to be a restaurant in the middle of a park, but WOW! We had 3 items and each one was presented with such care. The salad was pricy at $17, but it easily serves 2 maybe 3. Everything is homemade and it shows. Do yourself a favor and eat here!!

Peter K — Google review

We have stopped here many times as it's a half way spot to meet with family. We've always been pleased with the food and service. It's a quiet cosy spot for a visit. In the summer if we have time we add a walk through the connecting trails.

Lee F — Google review

Loved everything about it! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We've had our work Christmas parties 2 years in a row and they deliver every time!

Food is different which is always nice, and it tastes good.Alcohol of various kinds including on tap beer.I love sitting out on the balconyListening to the birds.

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The menu advertised on line was not what we received. The soup and main entries were all cold. There was only white turkey available and it was dry and tasteless. The dessert was supposed to be cheesecake but it was pie. The pie was very good. Our waitress was pleasant but was the only waitress working and could not possibly handle all the tables. We waited 40 minutes between main course and dessert and eventually had to flag the manager down to ask for dessert. The window we were sitting by was so dirty it made the outside view appear fuzzy. Our meals were the outrageous price of 84.00/plate. All in all, it was an awful experience for all 4 patrons.

Laura R — Google review

The atmosphere is serene, beautiful and peaceful. The food is very well worth the money. You don't feel rushed like most restaurants. Very welcoming, and highly recommended. (Was booked for a event so had additional things added to the table, ).

Occam's Razor is a contemporary tavern located in downtown Red Deer, offering an intimate and charming atmosphere with brick walls. This bar stands out for its innovative co*cktails and quality pub food. Known for their passion and creativity, Occam's Razor has gained a reputation as one of the most impressive bars in Central Alberta. The cuisine laboratory boasts dishes that leave patrons wanting more, with their standout Charcuterie Board featuring high-quality cheeses and smoked salmon.

Absolutely delicious food. Everything was amazing. We couldn't decide on the desserts, so we tried them all. The staff were very attentive. Can't recommend enough. Love the hip interior vibe.

Tara C — Google review

First of all the atmosphere set the mood. The significance behind each co*cktail ingredient and techniques the bartender used “She understood the assignment”. The food (we had the smash burgers) were absolutely amazing. Finished our evening with Matt and were very pleased by the overall service. 10/10 recommend this place.

Lorna A — Google review

Great night out the atmosphere is unlike anything else in Red Deer. We both really enjoyed our meals and my wife loved the drink and wants to come back to try the whole menu. Bad photo quality sorry.

M W — Google review

We wanted to go some place local and new. We came across Occam's Razor and we are so glad we did. The atmosphere was great - low light, moody but inviting. The co*cktail menu looked fabulous and the drinks were had were delicious. We asked what the bartender what he recommended and he asked our preferred alcohol, favorite flavor and the mood we were in, and made them according to our answers. Best co*cktail I've had! Service was fantastic, the food was wonderful and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommend!

Meagen K — Google review

Occam’s Razor was a fantastic place to have a nice dinner out on a patio while listening to live music. They had a nice selection of nonalcoholic drinks that still felt unique and fun, which is great for those who don’t drink. The food was fresh and flavourful and the staff were super friendly. I would recommend to anyone who wants a tasty drink while enjoying local flavours!

Micaela D — Google review

We went here for our anniversary & the co*cktails were unique & delicious, food was amazing and service was excellent. Everything was clearly made with care & pride. An all-around fantastic experience. We will definitely be back!

Amanda H — Google review

Definitely a 5 star dinner. From our arrival, Matt made us feel welcome, our service from all 3 that were there was phenomenal. We had one non-alcoholic drink which was delicious. We also wanted to try one of the alcoholic drinks but they were out of an ingredient or two so we gave them creative freedom and well, I was sold! Dinner of the chili con carne and the burger with a shared salsa and chips .... we were needing to be rolled out. The magical final touch was Matt making sure that we were sober to drive and our bellies were satisfied.Thank you for the fab experience and making the drive from Calgary worth it.

Kristin L — Google review

A few friends and I went to Occam's Razor and had a great time! The drinks were fantastic, the servers were very knowledgeable and personable! We all shared the charcuterie board which was not only tasty but well thought out and fresh! Definitely will be returning for the atmosphere and co*cktails!

Meranda L — Google review

We went here recently for my wife’s birthday, it was not out first time here but it was our first time getting food, and it was amazing! We’re both vegetarian and my wife is trying to eat more of a vegan diet so it’s sometimes hard to eat out, so we were very happy to see that we could eat here. I ordered The Valley of The King but they were out of eggplant, so the chef came out to discuss options and went with oyster mushrooms instead, which tasted amazing, and he came out again to talk about where they source their mushrooms from and how he wants to prove that vegan options can “be more than a stuffed pepper” which was nice to see that they’re passionate about their food. Because it was my wife’s birthday, they also brought a little dessert for her which was gorgeous, vegan, and delicious. The drinks here are amazing, so creative and tasty, and I love the option to roll the dice for a surprise drink. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Kal K — Google review

We recently celebrated my birthday here. The food and co*cktails were original and delicious. Although the drinks take slightly longer to get than some other places, that is to be expected when everyone at the table is ordering a different type of co*cktail. We definitely enjoyed our time here, and we will be back again.

Tony S — Google review

Went and celebrated my birthday here on a Tuesday night! There were only 2 people working and they were absolutely amazing! Our server was wonderful and I can’t say enough good things about her! It is a smaller place but they were able to fit 8-10 of us comfortably! Highly recommend and will be back for sure!

Chance F — Google review

I stopped in on my way through town I am so glad I did. The service was amazing, the food was so good, and the co*cktails were interesting and delicious. It was so great I texted friends about it - we will definitely make the drive from Edmonton just to come back again. Those fries!!!

Jodie H — Google review

Where do I start? The co*cktails are out of this world amazing! So creative. Everyone who works here is friendly. Food was delicious and was served hot, so you know it’s fresh. Dimly lit with a bar that spans the majority of one of the side walls.Highly recommend coming here for a celebration or for co*cktails!

Jenne B — Google review

Amazing food, drinks and staff. This is our go-to pub. The vibe is relaxed and you can not beat the creativity and thought put in to everything. Yes please!

Carey B — Google review

Occam's Razor is my husband and my favourite place to go for delicious co*cktails! We roll the dice and let the fates dictate what we are served. It's a fun way to try new drinks. The fact that the wonderful owners are also the best bartenders we have yet to meet means that we always love what we are served. We take our family and friends there when they come to visit us and they have all loved it as well.We have also eaten at Occam's Razor and are so impressed with the unique and DELICIOUS food that Chef Phil creates. We love that he sources locally and that everything he makes is so thoughtfully planned and made. Sooooo good!Best co*cktails, amazing food, friendliest team, and the coziest atmosphere... we can't speak highly enough of our experiences there. You should definitely go!

I had a remarkable experience at The Granary Kitchen on Father's Day. Upon entering, the staff warmly greeted us with a smile and our table was excellently prepared, creating a special atmosphere. Our server was not only kind, but also enjoyable to chat with. Despite the restaurant being very busy, our food arrived promptly and it was incredibly tasty. I highly recommend dining here as everyone is friendly and hardworking, even during peak times.

This is going to be a little out of order, but whatever.First time here. Took 2 minutes to even welcome us when we walked in, HOWEVER, they killed it from that point on.Started with the blooming onion….KILLER! So good. More of the spicy dip upon order would be nice, but more is available if you ask, at no cost.Janessa, our server, was the best of the best. 100% She is amazing. Never intrusive, always on time. Super impressed.I had the Bacon Onion Brie burger: The most juiciest burger I have ever had. Seriously. DAMN. OMG. So balanced. Perfect cook, texture, flavor….damn…SO GOOD.My wife had the Stuffed Chicken Parmesan. Really good. Needed some…green. You know, that subtle bitterness from greens? Sauce was a little sweet, but that would be covered with a bit of ‘green’ veg. Still VERY good. We will definitely have it again. The negative: Mens restroom leaves something to be desired, but it is the restroom…didn’t spend too much time there. The Granary is “date night” home for us!

Jason S — Google review

Mixed feelings about this place. The atmosphere was good, the service was great, but the food was mediocre. I had the soup of the day, which was tomato bisque, excellent, I could have eaten a whole pot. But the fried steak sandwich was a disappointment. It lacked flavour, and the steak was chewy, which I equate to, cheap cuts of beef, no quality beef here, which when we are in Alberta, you would think we would have access to better quality. The biscuit that came with it was as dry.

Michelle W — Google review

Amazing restaurant! AwesomeTasting food..Started off with StuffedMushrooms…they were different but good. For our entrees we had the beef medallions with the goat’s breath potatoes and the Southern Fried chicken with loaded baked potato…we each have a full meal left over! Great portions! Drinks were fun for the wife…goodOle Canadian Beef for the husband😁Great staff members, relaxing environment. Start to finish was one hour & 20Minutes!We will be back to try other recipes on the menu!

Lindsay A — Google review

Had the absolute best brunch at the granary! The hostess was so welcoming and our server Cody was phenomenal, he was super friendly, attentive and made great recommendations. The food was also absolutely delicious. Will be coming back!

Brittney P — Google review

Good food and service. Good drink options. Had the blooming onion which was so good and the sirloin Oscar that we got with fries and a soup. They messed up just a little and gave us sweet potato fries instead of shoestring fries but she brought out the correct fries right away and both were good so it was nice we got to try them both haha. Definitely order the blooming onion, delicious. the steak was cooked perfectly and the soup was really good too.

WOW! What an amazing find! I don’t usually stop in red deer for dinner when I’m driving for work between Edmonton and Calgary however this time I decided to, no regrets! The food was amazingly delicious and the staff super courteous, efficient and friendly. The service was impeccable. I had their buffalo spring rolls for appetizers followed by one of their signature burgers overall highly recommended. Just surprised me I did not expect this from little old red deer!

I made a reservation for Father’s Day at The Granary and it was AMAZING! My family and I made the reservation for 11:15am and as soon as we entered the door we greeted with a smile, our table was very nicely prepared for us making it feel so special. Our server was very kind and fun to chat too. It was a very very busy restaurant but our food came out hot, delicious, and not long after we ordered… I was impressed. I totally recommend going here! Everyone is very nice and hard working despite how busy it was. My family and I loved it and we are coming back FOR SURE!!!

Kaelyn L — Google review

We went to try out this place based on some good reviews and it sure was a pleasant experience but the server Mitch made it amazing. Great person and great service. Made our visit fun and great. We had a good time and food was great. The disappointment at the end was to see the upcharge you for every side. Spent half the meal on simple substitute of veggies for some sliced mushrooms and then baked potato instead of mash potato 🥔 ended up costing me $14 for those 2 changes on a $27 steak. A little extreme no matter how you look at it and at the very least we should have been told this when making the change. I eat in man upscale steak restaurants and never an an upcharge not even at Keg, Earls or Cactus. 🌵 any way otherwise all was good. 👍 our neighbours were also very rowdy shouting all the time and very loud like bar setting.

Love this place for both breakfast and dinner!!! Delicious Bennies, yummy drunk options, great atmosphere and service. One of the best dining out options in Red Deer.

Sean M — Google review

Went here for my birthday dinner with a group of friends. We went to value village before we came and chose horrible outfits for everyone to wear to this nice establishment. Our server was amazing! 11 of us and she didn't write one thing down. Put up with our chaos. Was great with the kids. I had the walnut salmon. Probably one of the best things I've ever put in my mouth. And I've had some good things in my mouth.

Bea W — Google review

What a fantastic find!! Beautiful restaurant, amazing service and delicious food. Our server, Jessie, was top notch and gave excellent recommendations and was super friendly. I would definitely recommend this one and will come back next time I'm in town.

Cathy B — Google review

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!! It has a great atmosphere and fun vibe, which is enhanced by the decor. The service is top-shelf, polite, and friendly. All this is only surpassed by the food! The prices are more than reasonable for the great quality, exceptionable taste, and abundant portions (the next day leftovers were spectacular!!). I look forward to going back!!

Josh B — Google review

Never again. 44$ for a surf n turf, 10$ for pasta (tasted like mold) 21$ for a salad ... don't eat here if you appricate food.

Layal B — Google review

Nice restaurant, menu options all looked incredible. Chose breakfast/brunch and both enjoyed. I would bump the heat up a notch on the food but, tasted great. Server was helpful also with suggestions🍴Second visit Dinner the food presentation, service, taste and temperature was incredible. Loved it all🍴

What a gem! Stopped in for the first time for lunch/dinner. Started with mushroom caps that were incredible! My main was chicken madiela (sp). The food came hot and delicious. Plated beautiful. Enjoyed a chat with Jessy, my server and it made the entire experience an absolute pleasure. Thank you! I will definitely be back

Jan T — Google review

Very disappointed today. I paid way to much for salad rolls, to get the smallest portion and it was just slapped together. One was completely apart. They were also missing advertised ingredients, One was wrapped fine. ( I know I should have gotten salads rolls from a proper place, but wanted to try this place) it was my first and last time ordering.Hoping it was just a bad day for the kitchen, even tho I ordered early enough to miss any rush.

Restaurant

Queen's Diner, a nostalgic eatery in the outskirts of Red Deer, is renowned for its 1950s retro ambiance and delectable North American comfort food. Operating from morning till afternoon most days, this establishment offers a breakfast menu featuring options such as French toast, pancakes, and omelets.

I stopped in here for lunch during the week on my travels because of the high ratings. This place is very retro, cosy and colorful. The waitress was very friendly and approachable.I had the loaded burger which isn't listed on the menu but is called The Princess and it was delicious. So was the homemade soup I had on the side. What made my experience was when I went to pay and she gave me a special callout at the till to the whole restaurant! Lol

Gunner — Google review

Love love love these 1950s vibes! I highly recommend their brunch and the women are respectable, approachable and with positive attitudes! We came here twice already. First visit we are late at Saturday afternoon be advised they open till 2pm only, but with smile and good quality food we are happy! Second visit was with other people who have a toddlers(and you knew they are noisy!) but those ladies are very friendly and I’m glad they have a lot of patience with them. No one yells to those people, so the atmosphere here is very welcoming and peaceful! Customer service and Food must be 💯🌟

-Amazing food 😋-Very cool atmosphere the only thing missing is the 50's/60's style jukebox with a $.10 option to pay for a couple songs and have it turned up instead of the normal radio station!-the service was just ok. The waitress needs a lesson in etiquette as she kept asking us over and over if we needed another minute to decide! Even though we had our menus in front of our faces!Besides that the overall experience was fantastic!!

Andrew M — Google review

What a great Diner! Service was fantastic with a "home town" feel. Food was excellent and the Diner atmosphere was perfect!

Patricia T — Google review

My friend brought me here after a long day on the road.Real good home cooked food. Great service and terrific value. Thanks to the gals running the show. You do it right. The way things used to be.Ron

Ron D — Google review

Will be back!Wonderful customer service, food served quickly. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with there soup which were both a 5/5Caesar salad was your basic. and the toasted Denver was definitely missing something. But was still good especially with the soup but Adding cheese lettuce and some sort of sauce (maybe mayo) Would upgrade it substantially but other wise it was good.Reason for the 4/5: coffee was very bland and watery. finding a local coffee roaster and maybe learning a few things about coffee would make it a lot better and would be a quick fix.Milkshake is alright upgrading to using real fruit and using vanilla ice cream as a base instead of the artificial flavoured ice cream you can buy at whole sales would be awesome though.

It’s was in March,2022 we got to this diner was excited cause outside was like back to 60-70’s which weren’t born yet I just saw it on movies once you get inside was amazing place to dine the staff ask us if it’s our first time and they give you a welcome jingle so nice, very clean place was well maintained if you think was an old place but you wouldn’t think, the chef lady was very clean and well served food. A very nice place to stop have your gas filled at gasoline alley then drop by to rest and have breakfast or brunch, definitely come back.

European restaurant

It's All Greek To Me is a family-owned and operated tavern that offers genuine Greek cuisine in a lively and inviting environment, with live belly dancing performances on Friday and Saturday nights. Start off with appetizers like saganaki (breaded and fried goats cheese) or keftedes (lamb and beef meatballs topped with onions served alongside tzatziki dip). For the main course, indulge in traditional Greek dishes such as moussaka or slow-roasted lamb kleftiko.

A must experience for all RD foodies. My favorite is the lamb and pita with spicy feta (which they sell). My family loves coming here not just for the food but the relaxed atmosphere, the honest conversation and friendly compassionate table service you won't find anymore in restaurants! This is how a family owned restaurant should make you feel.

Pyroblack76 — Google review

We tried this restaurant in January when we were visiting Red Deer. The food was very good and the atmosphere was quite lively and fun. We ordered calamari to share which was good, but not the best we have had. We enjoyed the roast lamb dinners and the prime rib special as well. Portions were generous and we left with food for the next day. It was fun to have the belly dancers dancing around the restaurant. We enjoyed our evening at the restaurant.

Looking for a Greek restaurant this is the spot in red deer. Hidden gem. Food was great and so was the service. I went in and took an order to go. I ordered the calamari, wrap combo(pork pita, rice, potatoes and Greek salad) everything was to taste and I have no complaints. The dine in is beautifully decorated .

We were greeted by their friendly and helpful waitress. She walked us through the menu. The wine selection was spot on. Thank you. We ordered the sampler for two. This started with pita and various Greek dips. All wonderful. Then a huge tray filled with a great selection of different types of goodies. We finished with baklava for dessert. Was a wonderful evening and will return again very soon

The food was good and the service was lovely, the waitress who is actually the owners daughter ensures you are well entertained with stories and history as you await the food. For an excellent Greek experience I highly recommend the 4/5 course meal. The Greek salad was the main highlight, it is fresh and authentic. We unfortunately didn't get to smash plates.

My date and I went there last night and the food was absolutely fabulous 😋. Bobbi was our server and she was very knowledgeable, gave great service and was very pleasant to chat to! She shared the history of the restaurant. I met the owners at their special table where they sit and they were all very very friendly. That’s why this restaurant is still standing when so many others have come and gone. 🤩. Ingrid

This was a very delicious meal. We ordered the Meze for 2 a 4 course meal. The quality was amazing, everything tasted rich. The first dish was 4 dips and pita. The pita was warm, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dips were flavourful and paired well. The second dish was calamari, meatballs, a pastry like outside with cheese inside and meat and maybe rice wrapped in a leaf. The third dish was a salad and it was a good amount. The last dish is the entree you can choose pork ribs, chicken or lamb chop. We got the ribs and lamb. They both fell off the bone. The quantity was perfect. The service was great, we had a lovely waitress even though it was a busy time she was still on top of things and was personable!Would highly recommend to try.

Going to a restaurant with kids can be tough. “Sounds Greek to Me” was above and beyond helpful to make our experience the best possible. After a warm welcome and friendly staff chatting with us we felt apart of the family! Our three kids each got GIFTED a toy/ doll each. This kept them entertained the entire time as we ate their delicious meal. Loved the food, atmosphere and especially the service! Best restaurant in Red Deer!

The family atmosphere and amazing food are only reason to visit this place. From the three dip and pita to the Greek ribs to the Spanokapita and Moussaka...all the freshest ingredients and best flavors you could ever want in a Greek dining experience. And how could I forget the belly dancers on Saturday night...Stop in and say Hi to Nick and his family.

This place was delicious! We showed up 15 minutes before it opened and it was very worth the wait. Our waitress was amazing. Very friendly and helped us understand the menu. Fantastic serviceI highly recommend the Greek Salad!! It was one of the best salads I've ever had.Ordered the Athenian Chicken and holy was it good! The cream tomato sauce they have was amazing!!Definitely coming back

My girl found this spot online, she lives in Edmonton I live In Calgary. We decided to try this spot passing through. We found authentic tasty Greek cuisine, I had the lamb and chicken skewer platter, she had the calamari everything was tasty hot and delicious. The Greek salad was prob the best we’ve had. Highly recommend this place for anytime.

Love the Greek ribs. They were tender, juicy, fall off the bone and well seasoned. I think the best ribs in Red Deer. The portions are large, enough for two old people like me. Save room for dessert also. I am not sure what it is called but it is a baked filo wrapped custard. Yummmmm. The staff are friendly and approachable. Great dining experience.

I had a wonderful first dining experience at Cilantro and Chive - Red Deer. The food was delicious, and the service exceeded my expectations. Despite a mistake with my order, the server was apologetic and went above and beyond to make it right. The manager also personally apologized for the error. This level of customer care truly made it an amazing dining experience. I will definitely be back in the future!

This joint is rock solid.Stopped in here for lunch with my cohort on a business visit to Red Deer.I’m sorry I’ve forgotten our servers name but she was absolutely lovely. Very knowledgeable on the menu and genuinely personable.I think it’s pretty awesome that they have things like cold brew coffee, and kombucha on tap. I had one of those coffees and it was well balanced and delicious. My dining partners had the pulled pork, and CBD Burger. I had Taylor’s Ring of Fire with the daily soup as my side. The soup was really well done. Chicken and rice based with a very nicely added touch of ginger. The aromatic element paired perfectly with the taste. The sandwich was bang on as well. Flavourful and very well cooked. I’m always in disbelief how many places manage to screw up a fried chicken sandwich. Not this spot. Very well done. It’s a cool atmosphere. A great option as you first enter Red Deer from the south end of town.I suspect I’ll be in Red Deer more and more in the near future so glad I already have a go to spot while I’m there!

My first experience here was better than my second; although both times the drinks are excellent and service is solid.Out of the dishes I have tried I would suggest the Poutine (Dill Pickle one and Gravy is delicious), the Fish and Chips, and Korean Bowl. Burgers are solid too, but I wanted a beef patty over the chicken for the Taco in a Bag Burger.I needed more seasoning and spice for the pasta dishes in my opinion. They tasted a tad bland.

Chill and enjoy some great eats....Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, fast service (visited weekday afternoon). Not a large menu, however, they still have a good selection of food. Large variety of beers. Overall, great place to eat.

My friend & I made a reservation for the Galentines Event (Feb 13, 2023) in Red Deer Location. It was our 1st time visit and will definitely will be visiting again in the future! Our server was great and very friendly. The foods looks and taste delicious! The service, staff & atmosphere was phenomenal

Great service and nice atmosphere. The food was good and reasonable price. The server was great, I didn't get his name, but he went above and beyond for my friend who was having a bad day. The server paid for my friend's drinks , with that sincere gesture helped made his day a bit better. Thank you.

Had a birthday celebration here. Two stars mainly for the service. We weren’t there at a peak time and I had to seek out who our server was going to be and at one point one of our guests cleared our table for us. I’ve been to the Lacomb location more and have always enjoyed both food and service. Sad as I have recommended this place as a must do for food when in Red Deer. I had the brisket grilled cheese, delicious but needed a bit more cheese to qualify as a grilled cheese in my opinion. co*cktail flight was very tasty and of course the creme brûlée was amazing.

First time dining here and it was a great experience! The food was really good but the service was even better!!! When our server made a mistake and ordered us the wrong thing, she was so apologetic. We told her that it was ok and that we’ll take the wrong dish, but she felt so bad and insisted on ordering the right dish for us. The manager came right after and apologize again. Now that’s what you call amazing service and thank you for caring about your customers!! We’ll be back :)

I was here yesterday evening and the atmosphere was nice. But the food wasn’t great.. my fiancé loved his food but I had the bison burger (which I usually get from a lot of other places) and I had one bite and that was it.. I just ate the fries after that and some of them just tasted off also.. I know all night and this morning that food was not agreeing with me. The coffee also was 4/10.. the service was amazing though and the place is very clean.

A funky menu that has a burger of the month that helps out local charities. They carry a great supply of local brews. The restaurant definitely has polarizing opinons but our visits have always been positive.

Valdene C — Google review

My family and I went to have dinner in-between my daughters dance competition and I must say we were all very disappointed with our meals. I started with the co*cktail flight, which was delicious 😋 and highly recommended. They also have many beers to choose from. 2 of us ordered the sully chicken burger, which was large in size but lacked flavor. The other burger that was ordered was just your typical burger, nothing special for the price they charge. 2 ppl had the "famous" pasta, which was terrible. No flavor, dry, and wasn't even hot. When we asked for more sauce to try and make it edible, they charged us $4 on the bill. You got to be kidding me! Your customer is willing to add more sauce to eat the good and u wanna charge us, shame on you. A proper restaurant would have taken the dish off the bill. Needless to say, we will never be back, and I would not recommend this place to anyone wanting to eat. Only good for drinks

Christina I — Google review

The menu seemed to be limited; not a lot of unique options, lots of pub food. The food tasted good but not outstanding. Presentation was nice. Nice patio space and large, deep tables. Very friendly servers.Second visit update November 2023: Small menu with many enticing options. My food was not good. I had the Portobello burger which was incredibly garlicky and salty, the pretzel bun was soft and got soggy, however the zucchini inside was a great touch. Half the leaves in my side salad were not edible as they were turning brown and black. Again, the servers were very friendly. It took a very long time between when the server cleared our dishes and when we finally received our checks.

Enjoyed a date night out at Cilantro & Chive! Always amazing tasting food here. Had the Korean Cauliflower Bites, the Loaded Baked Potato Poutine and hubby got the Beef Taco Poutine - everything was very flavourful and delicious! Excellent service and atmosphere was pleasant! 😀👍

Louise E — Google review

I have been to cilantro and chive and usually it's pretty good. They have very limited vegetarian options, used to be better . I had the million dollar pasta and it was no million unfortunately. I'm a huge local supporter so I hope it improves . Maybe I hit an off day.My son had the Bison burger and he really enjoyed. It was my Mom's first time trying and she found it very pricey and not worth it .. I had wanted to share a super star response because I have had really awesome meals in the past.

Tawni P — Google review

After not visiting this establishment for over a year I was excited to have a mom’s night out and treat myself. We were warned there was large groups and food might take awhile which is totally fine. The atmosphere is always pleasant, however it appears the chef might have been having an off night…The unleaded lavender lemonade was great as normal, the service was fine and after reading the description I was excited to order the “Million Dollar Spaghetti” with added chicken. However when it arrived the noodles were extremely dry, the added chicken was dry to the point of being hard to chew and the dish did not meet the description at all. There was one tiny patch of cheese and no cream cheese to be found at all until I packed up 95% of my meal to see if my kids would eat it and found a random clump of cream cheese in the bottom. When paying almost $30 for a main dish I expected a lot more than something I could have done better with $3 of ingredients. My friend had the same experience with her food ordering a completely different dish. It was a very disappointing experience over all and quality control is something I would prioritize.

It's rare for me to post a restaurant review, but I need to commend Cilantro and Chive's Red Deer location for a fabulous dinner. We arrived in the early evening thinking it would be empty on a Monday but were wrong, as clearly the locals know about this gem. After being seated promptly, our server handed us our menus and answered our questions. I settled on the Jambalaya Pappardelle, while the rest of our party ordered a full-sized poutine, a kids' hamburger and a Philly sandwich with a Caesar salad. My pasta dish was incredible -- usually 'jambalaya' brings to mind a boil-in-a-bag Creole dish on rice, which too often turns into a starchy, mushy mess. Cilantro and Chive's version was exquisite: the chicken was cooked perfectly, the shrimp was tender and plump while the sausage was delectable, with just a touch of spice. It was served on a bed of pappardelle, which is a wide and flat noodle that was able to sop up the delicious cream sauce. I could not stop raving about this dish until my wife put her hand on my shoulder and firmly said "That's enough."The rest of the dishes were equally incredible, with my son's poutine receiving high praise for its ample amounts of cheese and gravy. Still feeling ravenous we ordered dessert, consisting of an ice cream sandwich and creme brulee. The ice cream sandwich was rather large, with two hefty cookies holding in a giant scoop of some of the best strawberry ice cream I've ever tasted. The creme brulee was also top-notch with its creaminess contrasting nicely with the crisp, sugar topping. The original Lacombe location of Cilantro and Chive will always be one of our favourites due to its cozy, funky atmosphere, but the Red Deer location is equally as enjoyable with its larger dining room, which is just as welcoming to families with young children as it is to hipsters. The service was friendly and prompt, the athmosphere was inviting and any requests we had were greeted with professional courtesy. I didn't get a chance to sample a craft beer from the ridiculously vast menu, but next time I will.

Our new favourite restaurant. The food was hot and tasty. The bbq sauce on the pulled pork is my favourite flavour. The service was the best, bar none! Our server, Steph, went above and beyond to make our time feel comfortable and more like she was hanging out with us and helping get us our food than we are just the customer buying food off her haha. Music was so good. So refreshing to not just hear top 40 pop music at a restaurant. Their drink menu is extensive and the beer selection was great too. Will be back for sure

Thai restaurant

Blue Dragon Fine Thai & Cambodian Cuisine is an excellent spot in Red Deer for authentic Thai and Cambodian cuisine. The food is consistently good, and the owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has a large variety of entre's, but my favorite is the Dragon Bowl – it's packed full of flavour and very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend Blue Dragon to anyone looking for a delicious, affordable meal.

Blue Dragon is in my top 5 places to eat in Red Deer. Consistantly good food and awesome owners and friendly staff. A large variety of entre's but my favorite is the Dragon Bowl and Tom Yum soup, they have fresh ingredients and generous portions for a fair price. I would highly recommend trying their food! A++

This is the best restaurant in Red Deer!!!They have so many gluten free options that we didn't even make it past the appetizers on our most recent date night visit because we wanted to pig out on all of the things that aren't normally available as gluten free in other restaurants. Many of their main dishes are available as gluten free with substitutions. This is a restaurant that knows their stuff when it comes to dietary restrictions. They've even been able to offer half of the spice if someone we've been with was worried that a dish they were interested in might be too spicy for them. The food is always amazing and the service is always outstanding. There is no restaurant in Red Deer that offers the level of service and the quality of food consistently like the Blue Dragon.I'd bet that they'd be more well known if they were in a more exposed to traffic location as opposed to a mostly industrial park.If someone asked me what restaurant should I eat at in Red Deer if I could only visit one, I'd recommend this one.

I got the vegan version of their Tom Yum Soup. It was so delicious! I thought about this soup for days after I ate it and just want more. The spices are warm and comforting and reminds me of homemade food. They had lots of vegan options to choose from so I was very impressed! I came here with my mom who is not vegan and we were both very happy with our lunch. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic surprise! It's a bit tucked away, but we were glad we looked for it. The staff is so lovely and friendly, with great service. And the food was amazing! I frequent a few Thai places around Calgary, and this meal was better than any of them! I had the Thai green curry.

Fav place to get Tom Yum. I get there papaya salad with extra chilies. Wow! Spicy but so good. Never had a bad dish so far. Been eating from them for about 10 years. So freaking good!

Food was good though seafood bowl much overpriced. Service and evening restaurant service mediocre at best. More suitable to lunch crowd. Partner and I each had 2 drinks. Used glasses weren't removed. Waitress didn't know what glass to serve with a beer.

Been to many restaurants in Red Deer but this place has the BEST food in Red Deer. Every dish I try is always delicious and the food is consistently amazing! My top favourites are: Tom yum soup, mango papaya salad (YES EVEN THE DAMN SALAD IS GOOD) and the salad rolls with that delicious peanut sauce!! Please start selling the peanut sauce!!

This was our first visit to the Blue Orchid and we will definitely come back again. It's is a small family run place but there were several people dining in and quite a few take out orders picked up while we were there. Service was friendly. We started with the Thai salad rolls. They had chicken and shrimp inside. The peanut sauce that came with them was really delicious.I had the Cambodian stir fry. The sauce was spicy with layers of flavor. The green beans were still crunchy and there was lots of chicken. The portion size was just right. My partner ordered the dragon bowl which comes with a spicy vinaigrette. The ingredients were tasty but he could smell my sauce. He asked the chef for a side of yellow curry sauce to mix into the noodles. It was exceptional.

Great food, probably the best Vietnamese and Cambodian restaurant in Red Deer. Their Tum Yum is so good, and I always recommend their Dragon bowl 🐲 🍜, Thai rolls and coconut rice 🤤

Jacobo P — Google review

The dishes we had were all very tasty and piping hot fresh from the kitchen. We had the dinner for two for $44. It includes 4x spring rolls, soup and 2 entrees. The spring rolls were nice and crispy but I think the sauce could have been spicier. We had the Tom Yum soup which was excellent it had enoki and oyster mushrooms, lemongrass, shrimp and ginger.Thai styled noodles (pad thai) and green curry chicken. We said for the curry to be spicy but it could have been even more so.We also had the salad rolls and they were good sized and came with a coconut peanut sauce with a bit of bite but again we would have liked it to be a bit spicier. All in all a great meal! We enjoyed ourselves and the service was very good.

I ordered the spring rolls and the fried wontons. Both were amazing! The sauce that came with the wontons had a tiny bit of heat to it, but it was perfect. I wasn't crazy about the sauce that came with the spring rolls. So I just dipped them in the wonton sauce. Ordering was very fast, easy and the service was very friendly. The order was ready in 10 minutes. My daughter picked up the order so I am not sure of the atmosphere. I have never actually been inside.

Takeout Restaurant

Famoso Neapolitan Pizzeria in Red Deer is a casual and authentic eatery known for its delicious Neapolitan pizzas, pasta dishes, and sandwiches. It has gained a friendly reputation within the neighborhood and has become one of the top dining spots in the area. The menu offers a variety of traditional favorites that are sure to satisfy any pizza lover.

Great place and food . Awesome service. Loved the bruschetta appetizer and the tiramisu.Almost gave it 4 stars only because the pizza didn’t have the true leopard spotting on the crust ( wich is the signature look for Napoletana pizza). The server said I should ask for it to be well done the next time . Which is ….. 🤷‍♀️

Veronika K — Google review

Would be 5 stars but they are understaffed. The Tom bisque is more creamy here and they mix the hummus and Taziki into 1 dish (ask for separate with Mediterranean bread if that's what you like)Red wine I recommend the Castillo.

We are a party of four trying new or new to us restaurants each month and this was our pizza place to try. We are VERY happy with our choice. We all chose a different pizza and then shared so that everyone got to sample each one. We chose the cavoletti, the Quattro formaggi, the pepperoni and cheese and the capricciosa. All of them were delicious but by far our favourite was the cavoletti. Who knew that brussel sprouts, dates, walnuts, ham and honey was OMG good!! We were stunned. Amazing!! After that we HAD to try some desserts and again all weee good but the banana dolce was MIND BLOWING!! Wow!!

The restaurant has a central location and plenty of parking. Quickly, I was seated and having my order. The menu is easy to read, despite all the Italian words. I had the lunch promo, and my company had a 12" pizza. The portion size was good enough for me, while my friend saved three slices for later. The service worked fine as possible. I recommend this place.

We stopped in tonight for a date night. The food was super delicious and the staff were really nice. Amanda was great, we didn’t feel rushed when we couldn’t decide on what to order as it was our first time here and she checked in to make sure everything was good. We got the Bruschetta, the Wiseguy sandwich with a bowl of tomato bisque soup, and the Capricciosa pizza. Everything was so good and the pizza crust was definitely homemade! We also took a tiramisu to go and it was phenomenal! My only reason for not giving a 5 star is that the pizza crust end was a tad dry towards the end of the meal so maybe a little butter on the ends or some olive oil to keep it when it comes out of the oven but other than that, it was great! We’ll definitely be back!

Recently, some ingredients I had paid for in order to be on my pizza did not show up on my pizza and my pizza was unfortunately stuck to the box. With the price of food and delivery these days it was disappointing. But what wasn't disappointing was how the restaurant handled my phone call. Specifically Amanda.I called the restaurant and spoke to her and she immediately went straight to apologizing and then told me how it could be corrected. Not only could skip reimburse me and correct the issue but that she was happy to give me a gift certificate to cover the cost of the issue I had. She was incredibly friendly and polite and kind and empathized the problem and wanted to fix it immediately. I use a wheelchair and she was even willing to meet me outside when I got to the restaurant and pass me the gift certificate and rectify the situation. There are really big terrible problems in the world, this is something minor but if customer service falls apart completely it's a ripple effect of frustration and disappointment and no one wins in the end. Thank you so much Amanda for how you handled this situation and how you went above and beyond!

Solid traditional Neapolitan style pizza from a chain restaurant. We had the Margherita, and one with prosciutto and arugula, both pretty decent. Great service from friendly staff. We were just passing through Red Deer and it was a bit off the highway but not to far out of the way. They do have other menu items other than pizza, that I may have to try another time. Fine dining restaurant

This steak house offers well-crafted dishes, with live jazz on the weekends. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, and they will go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. This is a great spot for a romantic dinner or a catch-up with friends.

My boyfriend ordered take out for us and I went to pick it up after work as we live out of town. After we finished dinner at home, my boyfriend realized we didn't receive our salad. It was a family sized salad priced at $22. We called to let them know, hoping we could get a refund. I spoke with Charlie and she handled the situation very well! We received a $30 gift card and she also offered a complimentary salad! The salad was good, although I wish it had more tomatoes and cucumbers in it.On top of the salad, we really enjoyed the yorkshire pudding, calamari, the mashed potatoes/vegs and the sticky toffee pudding! Can't wait to try more items from the menu!

The food was amazing. Really enjoyed the quality of the ingredients! The only thing was, kind of rush the time (didn’t made any reservations and when we seated we had an hour and an half for our time) but kind of felt our server was keep coming for plate remove, and every person walked passed us was kind of looking at us.We kind if figured that we need to book before we come in. But not sure that’s enough since it looks fast paced restaurant even its a live jazz bar.

Food is fantastic, went for their date night menu on a Tuesday and it was a great selection for the price. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Even though we weren't drinking mixed drinks, we enjoyed watching the bartender mixing the multiple different co*cktails. The only downside was we wanted to watch the Oilers game and unless we wanted to sit at the bar it was impossible to see the screen without a light hanging in front of it lol obviously it's not a sports bar, so it didn't ruin our evening but we didn't stick around for the 3rd period and instead went home to watch.

Great restaurant with a good vibe, nice scenery, plenty of space for lunch and fantastic food. I'm a Foodie in case you haven't read any of my other reviews and I always want to order a dish at a new place that stands out from the usual fare. Today my choice was the the Ahi Tuna Sandwich and it was absolutely scrumptious to the last messy bite. The ahi tuna was seared to perfection and plenty juicy. As I write this a day later my mouth begins to drool at the thought. I paired it with their house salad with goat cheese and stuff that was quite tasty as well and I'm no rabbit. To quote Arnold; I'll be back 😁

Beautiful atmosphere and great service. The food was ok. I didn't enjoy the curry pasta because the lemongrass flavor mixed with curry was not to my taste. Also, the seafood linguini was too sour. The braise beef, truffles fries, mussels, and shrimp dish were delicious. The food presentation was nice, and the price range was fair. We will return to try their steaks and other items in the menu.

We came to One Eleven Grill once before for lunch and it was such a great experience, we decided to return for dinner (in late April 2023). Unfortunately, this time around, the experience was the opposite. While we were seated promptly and our server was friendly enough, she was not very attentive and all over the place. She was extremely slow in coming back to take our order even though my menus were closed and faced down for over 10 minutes. Our drinks then took 20 minutes to arrive. Apparently the bar was running behind but from our table viewpoint, our server had forgotten to put in the order. Then it took over an hour for our meal to arrive. We kept asking for an update and kept getting apologies. I had two little ones with me so it is not acceptable to ask young children to wait one hour and 20 minutes for dinner. Seriously, how long does it take to make a grilled cheese sandwich? While the food presentation looked great, it didn't taste as great as we remembered. The kitchen messed up the side to my burger, the chicken was a little on the dry side, and the worst, my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was cold and tasted like cardboard. The sandwich was basically two overly dried pieces of bread hard as brick slapped together with processed cheese in the middle. The server was apologetic and took this meal of our tab and I wouldn't expect any less.I wondered if we picked a bad day because I remember our last experience as nothing but exceptional. I would have to be convinced to return again.

It started off slightly rocky with seating but our waitress was immediately the most accommodating I’ve ever seen. She quite literally preformed leaps and bounds to accommodate our large party. The food I ordered was excellent (Yorkshire pudding) everything came out of the kitchen exactly as ordered.Since Covid I can say eating out has been disappointing and at times upsetting in the way staff approach patrons. Not here! What a treat!

Here for a birthday dinner for my son. We totally indulged in the surf and turf board for two. Server was outstanding. Attentive but not in your face, friendly funny, and kind, she felt perfect for the scene.Ribeye on the surf and turf was done to perfection. I'm from the west coast so I was very happy when the meal came out. It's what you'd expect, over the top and a huge indulgence. Flashy and delicious! Scallops we seared and mouthwatering, crab was melt in your mouth, tiger prawns huge and meaty and the lobster was precisely what you'd expect.Loved both the sides we chose. Mashed potatoes were savory, not your typical and not in need of anything additional, really surprised us! The ceasar salads even came with some lovely capers on top.My son was treated to a dessert for his birthday and was given 4 options of which he chose the Creme Brulee which came complete with a blue candle with a blue flame lol! Super delicious, classic and smooth with a dollop of whipped cream and a raspberry.

We had prawns two ways to start. My wife had the blueberry basil chicken and I had the short rib and we shared the brussel sprouts. Everything was pretty great. I do however think that they are cutting up chuck roast and callling it short rib. I have never seen a boneless piece of short rib that was that size. It was a huge cube of meat. Tasted good just unsure it was short rib.

I had the Quinoa Power Bowl (gluten free) but I added grilled chicken. That was really really good! So many flavors and I paired it with a local Cream Ale: Alpenglow Cream Ale from Screaming Retriever brewing company. See my empty beer glass? It was really good.

The story: My fiancé planned our Valentine's Day date here. We made reservations for 7pm. Upon arrival we were greeted and before being seated - another hostess tells us that there's another reservation after us (no problem this is normal)...except she said 8:30pm. This was shocking...we didn't say anything as we assumed they were on top of everything and THEY would make sure we had everything we needed to be out in 1.5 hours (this was not the case). When a normal restaurant seating is 2 hours. The experience: Service was entirely too slow given their 1.5 hour seating. Water to our table took long, getting co*cktails took long. Getting our mains took forever. What is forever? We got out mains at 8:25pm. HAH. And another seating at 8:30pm? Funny. Luckily we were not scurried along and the time was not brought up again. The recommendation: Prepare your staff levels better to serve Valentine's Day OR do not tell your guests about the short seating times if you can't meet it.All in all - it was fine. We were not rushed. The food: For the price of the food I was disappointed. Sure, it was a lot of food, but the quality for the price was way too much. I got the pork chop and my fiancé got the short rib. My pork was way overdone and so was the baked potato. The potato was dry and crumbly and the cheese on top was obviously pre-made and put on my plate long time after the cheese had re-solidified. Which I would actually expect on Valentine's Day that food was pre-prepared...except for the fact that our mains too 1 hour to come to us. Same with the rest of the overcooked food. Seemed like it was sitting there for a while so not sure where the disconnect was but they should figure it out.The co*cktails: co*cktails were ok, typically I expect co*cktails at such a fancy place to be too notch, they were 'ok' . I had two fruity co*cktails, the first met my expectations in that it was fruity but not sweet. Yum. The second was a disguised Shirley Temple - just call it a Shirley Temple and then I would know what to expect. It was very sweet and not the co*cktail that matched the rest of the list.Overall: I probably will not return. For the price and quality of the food, I expected better. If we ever do I will avoid weekends in order to make sure the kitchen wouldn't be overwhelmed. I would skip the co*cktails and opt for wine.I ould certainly watch the prices - 4 co*cktails, an appetizer and 2 mains was $188 before tip. A pricey night considering the whole experience.

We come on birthdays, anniversaries, holidays.Off the bat, service was okay. Didn't seem like a priority to the restaurant or servers. Waitress always had a smile, but we didn't feel important to the restaurant.Wife bit down on something hard in her mashed potatoes. Looked like glass or hard plastic... we gave the piece to the waitress. The mashed potatoes were replaced but we weren't given an explanation on what or why it was in her food. All in all...food was pretty good, but wouldn't pay the price on the menu. Won't be going back.

Came to celebrate our Anniversary! It did not disappoint. Host and our waitress were friendly and knowledgeable. They even had a great mocktail selection too. Didn’t get a picture of the crab cake appetizer, but it was delicious and perfect for 2 to share.

I've been here twice, and both times have been superior experiences. The food is cooked to perfection, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere is welcoming. One thing that is a must try is their mushroom skillet. It's amazing. Best I've ever had.And for my gluten free crowd there is an abundance of choice!

This is a great little place with an excellent vibe, excellent music and great service. Phoebe was a wonderful server who was very tentative to us the whole time. The steak I received was an 8oz sirloin cooked to perfection. Very tender cut of beef and the truffle mash potatoes were out of this world. My friend got the carbonara which was also excellent! Reasonable prices for a good night out!

Almost everything was great except we were sat next to a very big table celebrating birthdays. Felt like we had no privacy. Certainly not a quiet dinner. The guests even made conversation when our food was brought and made comments. Privacy was not a priority. Would still go there, just would ask for a more quiet spot to sit.

We went here for our anniversary and what a pleasant experience we had. Their atmosphere was really great and the food and drinks were fantastic. The bruschetta, and scallops with pork belly were very good and I highly suggest them. Definitely will be returning to this spot again sometime soon!

The restaurant has daily lunch specials with generous portions and affordable prices. The friendly service adds to the overall positive experience at this cozy one-man operation.

The food was amazing, and the guy behind the counter was very welcoming! I highly reccomend this spot to anyone who hasn't tried it yet. It's a hidden jem that deserves good recognition!

Really enjoyed our meal here! Got the combo and it was delicious. The rice (normally the most boring part of the meal) was so good! Jerk chicken was flavourful and I loved the curry sauce in the goat curry. The mac and cheese was good and cheesy and the cornbread was good as well. Goat was quite bony, little meat, as my only complaint. The service was friendly and quick. Will be back if I'm in the area again!

Red Deer’s best kept secret. I went for the oxtail and it was amazing. With oxtail, you are getting the flavour from the bones. Never tasted the chicken, but I heard it’s good. True hipsters will order oxtail. I could feel the Jamaica in this place. It’s a vibe. You can’t go wrong by ordering oxtail.

As everyone mentioned in previous comments, the vibe is great. I didn’t get a chance to try the Jerk chicken which I heard was very good from everyone around town but The oxtail and beef patty’s were exceptional. I’m definitely coming back on my drives between Edmonton and Calgary.

We came here as part of a snack crawl/food tour we were doing for fun while visiting relatives over Christmas. We were blown away by the flavour. The food was so good! Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. Nice to see there were tons of regulars - they all knew each other by name and had great rapport with the owner. Always a good sign.

This place is seriously fantastic. I came in for lunch, the owner, so kind and personable! The food is out of this world, that corn bread is so moist, the mac and cheese - the BEST I'd ever had. You'd be crazy not to give this place your time and money. Reasonable prices, delicious food, super kind staff.Absolutely will be coming back when in the city.
