Shane MacGowan's widow Victoria Mary Clark returned to social media with a beaming snap on board a yacht on Tuesday,nine months after the singer's death.
The Poguesfrontman passed away aged 65 in November 2023 in Dublin surrounded by his family after battlingviral encephalitis.
Journalist Victoria, 58, who began dating the singer in 1986 before trying the knot in 2018, used her trip on the water as a metaphor and revealed that she'd been navigating 'deep turbulent waters' since her beloved husband's death.
However on a brighter note she gushed how she still felt Shane's lovely strongly and how she believed he talked to her through music.
Writing: 'I haven’t been on Instagram for a long time but I have been navigating through the deeper and more turbulent water that has been coming my way since my beloved Shane is no longer in his physical body'.

'It’s been totally uncharted territory for me and very rough at times and I have fallen overboard and been fished out by friends and family on more than one occasion. But one thing that is a constant is love and I keep focusing on it when I get lost'.
She went on: 'I think about the incredible love that we shared and I still feel it. And I still feel Shane’s love, Sometimes he talks to me through ideas or music and sometimes he comes through mediums, always it feels amazing to hear from him'.
'I also find that staying present in the moment and in the body is very important, feeling the sun and the water is very healing and spending time with lovely people. The boat captain is called Lynsey Phillips and he is an incredible guy'.
Mary continued: 'He is almost 90 and he’s a navigational genius who can steer the boat with his feet and he is full of the joys of life. It’s been a revelation to me to discover how much joy it’s possible to feel even when you are living with extreme loss'.
'And love is far more powerful than we know. I believe you can be ‘In Love’ in every moment that you choose to live with heart and embody love and from your heart you will always find courage no matter how much sorrow is also there. You just have to remember that love is bigger than anything else and especially bigger than your mind can know'.

Discussing the beginning of their 40-year love story, Victoria recalled in a teaser clip on Instagram: 'Everything about him was so magnetic and so charismatic.
'My life changed completely. It was like the missing piece of my life has arrived.'
Opening up about her grief, Victoria continued: 'When you have a soulmate, you just feel so at one with them.
'It's a very deep connection that I've never had with anyone else and I don't even know if it's possible to have it with anyone else.'
In December, Victoria confirmed that Shane - who had also been battlingviral encephalitis for eight years - had died of pneumonia, just days after their fifth wedding anniversary.

Announcing Shane's death on social media, Victoria wrote at the time: 'I don't know how to say this so I am just going to say it.
'Shane who will always be the light that I hold before me and the measure of my dreams and the love of my life and the most beautiful soul and beautiful angel and the sun and the moon and the start and end of everything that I hold dear has gone to be with Jesus and Mary and his beautiful mother Therese.
'I am blessed beyond words to have met him and to have loved him and to have been so endlessly and unconditionally loved by him and to have had so many years of life and love and joy and fun and laughter and so many adventures.'
Speaking to BBC Radio 4's Woman Hour, Victoria said shortly after Shane's death: 'When I look at his picture, I feel him smiling at me and I actually feel a real smile, a real genuine connection.
'I feel his love and I feel that connection really strongly. So it's very hard to feel sad about it, even though I do sometimes burst into tears for my own loss.
'I can't feel sad for him because I just really feel he is in a very blissful state.'
